Veronica Denner

Veronica Denner, a lifelong resident of Obernburg, died peacefully at the age of 84 on Wednesday, May 27, at the Roscoe Community Nursing Home. She is mourned by her surviving family member, Loretta Denner, of Obernburg and Westchester County.

Veronica was well known locally as the Obernburg postmaster, succeeding both her mother and her father, who were the postmasters for seven decades before her. She was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Church, Obernburg, and until retirement also volunteered as chaplain of the Emmett Turner Post of the American Legion Auxiliary, Jeffersonville. She had many dear friends and will be remembered fondly.

Because of pandemic restrictions on wakes and church services, a private service will be conducted by Rev. George Baker, pastor of St. Mary’s, at the family gravesite.
