Rita J. Banuat

   Rita J. Banuat 90, of Obernburg a retired Licensed Practical Nurse at Callicoon Hospital died Tuesday August 23, 2022 at the Care Center at Sunset Lake Liberty. Daughter of the late Neal W. and Mae Leona Canfield Lester, Rita was born November 26, 1931 in Lookout, Pennsylvania. Rita was the widow of Robert Banuat. 
     Rita was a proud member and former organist for the Fremont Community Church in Fremont Center. 
     Rita is survived by her two daughters Linda Dimarzio and her husband John of Monticello and Joan Banuat of Obernburg, several nieces and nephews and three sisters in laws Jane Keesler, Mary Nosek, and Ellen Hunt.
     Visitation will be held on Friday August 26, 2022 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home 34 Upper Main Street Callicoon, NY. The funeral service will be held on Saturday August 27, 2022 at 2 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be made in St. Mary's Cemetery Obernburg, NY.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Fremont Community Church, the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
