Richard Charles Morgan December 18th, 1947 - September 6th, 2023 In Loving Memory of Richard Charles Morgan Richard Charles Morgan, the son of Charles Webster Morgan and Margaret Edna Burns, passed away on September 6th, 2023, at the age of seventy-five. He leaves behind a legacy of service and love that will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Born on December 18th, 1947, Richard embarked on a life of service and duty that touched the lives of many. He proudly served in the United States Navy for six years, demonstrating unwavering dedication and receiving an honorable discharge as a Petty Officer-2nd Class in 1971. His commitment to protecting and serving extended beyond the military, as he later became a Sullivan County Deputy Sheriff-Sergeant, where he continued to make a positive impact on the community he loved. Richard was not only a dedicated professional but also a devoted family man. He was the beloved parent of four children and the adoring grandparent of eight grandchildren. His love and guidance will forever be cherished by his family, who take comfort in the memories they shared together. Richard leaves behind his loving wife, Claudia K. Chaiet, of 42 years; his daughter Meredith (partner Owen), sons Jeremy (wife Erin) and Ryan (wife Erin); and grandchildren, Thorin, Bjorn, Braylon, Hannah, Tia Skye, Willow, Isabella, and Colton; sister Patricia and niece Susanna. Richard was predeceased by daughter Julie Morgan-Hernlen and her husband Aeneas Hernlen; father, Charles Morgan and mother, Margaret Burns. Richard Charles Morgan’s life was characterized by honor, integrity, and a deep commitment to the well-being of others. His memory will live on through the lives he touched and the love he shared. A private graveside celebration of Richard Charles Morgan’s life will be held on Saturday, September 9th, at 11am at Fosterdale Cemetery.
