Patrick James Smith

Patrick ‘ Pat ‘ J. Smith of Cochecton passed away on October 8th 2021 at the age of 74. Pat was born in Wanaque NJ to the late John Smith and Louise Garrison Smith. Pat served in the US Army during the Vietnam War before returning home to begin his career as a steelworker for Arrow Metals in Haskell NJ. He is survived by his wife Karen Sheppard Smith of 47 loving years; three daughters, Michele Wenzel and her husband Paul, Lori Parlinski and her husband John, and Jeanette Bates and her husband Josh, six grandchildren Paul, Ashley, Patrick,Ryan,Adriana, and Ava and two sisters Iris Santana and April Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his four brothers John, Fred, Paul, and Mike. Pat was a beloved husband, amazing father, grandfather, and brother, A friend to everyone who was lucky enough to have known him. Pat had an incredible personality and a heart of gold. His memory will live on forever in our hearts and he will always be loved like a duck.
