December 30, 1964 – October 23, 2021

Mark John Yewchuk, age 56 of Jeffersonville, NY, a lifelong resident, died Saturday, October 23, 2021.

Mark is the son of Barbara Yewchuk and the late John Yewchuk.  Mark was born in Monticello, NY. Mark is survived by his two children, Kimberly (James) Cormier of Cochecton and John Yewchuk of Jeffersonville his mother, Barbara Yewchuk of Jeffersonville, sister Debbie Muzuruk of Hortonville,   Included in his survivors is the mother of his children Julie Yewchuk and his girlfriend Patti Huebner. Mark is also an uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Mark attended the Jeffersonville-Youngsville Central School District and then enlisted into the United States NAVY where he served his Country while seeing the world.  He also did one year of Reserves and received his Honorable Discharge.  Mark worked in the Water Works Department for Schmidt’s Wholesale for 33 years. The proudest moment in his life is when he walked his daughter down the aisle.

Mark certainly lived his dash.  He was a lifelong NRA member, a proud member of the Jeffersonville Volunteer Fire Dept., where he was an active member for many years.  He was an avid bowler for the Villa Roma bowling team.  A competitive softball player for the Stone Arch Inn and a longtime member of the Ferguson Hallow Hunting camp.

Mark was an outdoorsman; he loved the sounds of nature and the peace and quiet that fishing and hunting brought to his soul.  He loved hearing and telling hunting stories.  He brought and taught that love of the outdoors to his children and nieces and nephews.  He was so proud when one of his children would harvest a deer or turkey.  He loved calling in turkey’s and having a youth hunter harvest it.  As we approach this year’s hunting season, please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

A celebration of Mark's life will be held on Saturday November 6,2021 from 1 to 4 PM. Firematic services will be at 3:45 at the firehouse. Military honors will be conferred by the US Navy, and a service will follow at 4:00 PM. Ginny Bossley will officiate. Memorial donations in Mark’s name may be made to the Jeffersonville Volunteer Fire Dept. or  Jeffersonville volunteer ambulance.
