James M. Wood

Kenoza Lake, New York 

1943-2022

 

James M. Wood entered into eternal rest  on December 11, 2022 after a courageous three year  battle with Glioblastoma.

Born in Dumont, NJ the eldest son of Maurice Wood and Isabella Evelyn Wylie on August 3, 1943.

He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965. In 1966 he became a police officer in the Dumont, NJ Police Department. Then he entered the New York State Police in 1968.  He retired in 1992 at the rank of Zone Sergeant Troop F in Liberty, NY.

He was an honorary member of the Sioux Hunting Club.

Mr. Wood is survived by his wife of 46 years Barbara Shove Wood at home, a daughter Kristin Erlwein (Edward) of Downingtown, PA., and a son James A Wood (Keri) of Shavertown, PA, 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews . He was predeceased by his two younger brothers Richard A. Wood and David L. Wood.

To honor his wishes there will be no services.
