November 19, 1939 – August 15, 2021

 

Gerald Dennis Brown, 81 of Jeffersonville, NY, passed away at his home on August 15th.

 

“Jerry” was born on November 19th, 1939, to Claude and Marie Brown in Bridgeville, NY. After graduating from Monticello High School in 1958, he went on to serve in the Marine Corps. from 1959 to 1964. Upon his honorable discharge from the Corps. Jerry landed a job with New York Telephone, a position he held until his retirement.

In 1967 Jerry married the love of his life, Nancy DuBois from Bethel, NY. Nancy and Jerry would go on to have two sons, Todd Emerson, and Brendon Scott.

After his retirement from “The Phone Company”, Jerry spent several years volunteering at Woodloch Pines in Pennsylvania, and the local hospital in Harris NY. During his time at Harris Hospital, Jerry was always quick with a joke, or his trademark smile as he greeted and chatted with everyone, he crossed paths with daily.  Jerry came to be known and loved by everyone he worked with and met there. He cherished his volunteer days at both locations.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents, brothers Claude and Thomas, and stepbrother Richard (Voss). He is survived by his brother Buddy; wife Nancy; sons Brendon and Todd; Todd’s wife Monessa and granddaughter Victoria.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held 11 a.m. Friday, August 20th at the Evergreen Cemetery in Bethel, NY.
