Deborah Elizabeth Schick

Deborah E Schick, 61 years old, passed away Monday July 31st, 2023 at Garnet Medical Center Harris, NY after a 7 year long battle with cancer.

Deborah was born on November 17th, 1961 in Reno, NV to John Metzger and Liesel Klein Metzger. The family moved to Sullivan County and Deborah was raised in Callicoon, NY along with her sisters Lorie and Judy.

Deborah graduated from DVCS in 1980 and worked several jobs over her years such as dishwasher at the Villa Roma Resort; CNA at Harris & Callicoon Hospitals; home health aid; but her most beloved job was being a stay at home mom to her 3 children John, Heidi, and Eric. Deborah also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, and count cross stitch. 

Deborah is survived by her mother Liesel Klein Metzger, sisters; Lorie Metzger Scott, Judy Metzger McKinney (Derek), children; John Schick, Heidi Bauer (Norman), and Eric Schick; grandchildren Dylan & Abigail Bauer; nephew Damien Vanleuven (Lacey), and niece Erika Miller (Kevin) as well as a great niece & nephew Shaelynn & Grayson Miller.

Preceding her in passing were her husband Thomas Schick, Mother & Father in Law Evelyn and Albert Schick, Father John Metzger, and daughter in law Tina Schick.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday August 5th at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home 34 Upper Main St Callicoon, NY from 11am to 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ride 2 Survive or Upper Delaware Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
