Daisy Smith

On the morning of Saturday April 15 2023 the beautiful Soul of Daisy Smith left this earth to enter into eternal rest with God and her loved ones.  Although Daisy endured many painful illnesses over the past few years she eventually grew tired and is now at peace.   

Daisy was raised in the Bronx and as a child she loved to tap dance.  As a young adult Daisy was proud of her career at Reader's Digest.  During that time Daisy was also a young, giving and nurturing Mother and Wife and then eventually a Grandmother.  Daisy was also a loving and devoted Friend.  Her friends that still reach out are friends of many many years whom she loved and admired and they loved and admired her.

Daisy spent her entire life serving others whether it was for her family or community and she wanted good things for all she knew.  Daisy loved her family and friends but family is what always mattered most to her.  She was a hard worker raising kids and working two jobs after moving to Sullivan county in the early 1970's.  She was an amazing cook and a traditional homemaker who did things with style and simplicity.  Her late husband Charles A. Smith was the love of her life and she tremendously valued their life together.  She spoke of her good life and memories often.  Daisy will be terribly missed by her surviving children Peter, Kelly and Raymond as well as her Grandchildren Ian Detch Margo Healy and Jonathon and Ryan Healy.  Daisy was also a Great Grandmother of 3 to Sunshine and Chase and Aries.  Daisy also leaves behind many Nieces and Nephews who loved her as well and who also cherish her memories.  Daisy was predeceased by her two children Glen and Lisa and her treasured grandson Augie  which broke her heart and changed her forever.

To say that Daisy will be missed is an understatement.  There are no words to describe a woman of such a loving spirit or how much of an  emptiness that spirit leaves with her absence.  It is with faith that Daisy is with God and her family that we reluctantly let her go and may she rest in peace forever in the eternal love and light that she deserves.
