Betty was well known in the community for her skill in the kitchen and for her love of children and animals.  She will be remembered fondly by countless students who passed through Lakeway Elementary where she worked and managed the kitchen for many years. After retiring, she returned to Lakeway as a volunteer aide in Mrs. Aldrich’s kindergarten classroom. She was a surrogate grandmother to many. Betty was a long-time member of the Ellenville (NY) Methodist Church and most recently attended First United Methodist Church in Littleton, NH where she had been a long-time member. Her faith sustained her through heartbreaking losses. She was dedicated to the church and continued to bake pies for the chowder luncheons even after she turned 90.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Littleton, NH on October 9 at 10:30 am.  Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Littleton, NH and Callicoon Cemetery, Callicoon, NY.
