Athena M. Hagerty

Athena M Hagerty Sr., 75, passed away on April 24, 2018 in Monroe, NY. Visitation will be held at Stewart Murphy Funeral Home 5068 Rt 52  Jeffersonville, NY from 6-9pm Friday April 27. Funeral services will be at Fosterdale  United Methodist Church  Route 17 B Fosterdale, NY at 11am on Saturday April 28.

Athena was born in Athens, Greece on August 18, 1942. She moved to Philadelphia after high school to attend Drexel University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and a Master’s degree in Biology and Dietetic Sciences. She worked for 25 years as a Dietician for New York State public services, specializing in helping people with special needs. She lived with her husband, William Hagerty III, in Monroe, NY, where she enjoyed time with her daughters, gardening and helping animals. 

Survivors include her twin daughters, Athena and Diana, her brothers, John and Caustas, her nieces Pennayota, Katerina and Katie, her nephew, Dimitri and her husband William.
