Alfred Barile, age 89, of Jeffersonville, NY, formally of the Bronx, passed away on January 17, 2019 at his home.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Frances Barile; his daughter, Frances Barile-Murano and her husband Joseph Murano; several nieces and nephews; and many friends and other family.
Alfred was born in Bronx, NY on March 11, 1929, where he lived with his mother, Catherine Finn, and grandmother, Mae Finn. He graduated from Aviation High School and would later go on to serve in the Army during the Korean War. After he was honorably discharged from the Army, Alfred was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Alfred married Frances Pagano on September 9, 1984; 9 months later, their daughter, Frances Catherine, was born. After 33 years with the postal service, Alfred retired and became a stay at home dad to devote his time to his daughter Frances. Alfred was a kind soul with a lovable sense of humor who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was a lifelong NY Yankees fan and enjoyed reading science fiction novels.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 1 to 3 pm at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home 5068 State Route 52, Jeffersonville, NY 12748. All will be invited to a celebration of life at Alfred's place of residence. A memorial service will be held in Spring of 2019.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to charities of American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Foundation, or ASPCA would be appreciated.
