James B. Henke

   James Bernard Henke a retired Dairy Farmer and partner in Henke Brothers Farm died Saturday August 18, 2018 in his lifelong home. He was 91. Son of the late Bernard and Veronica Henke, Jim was born June 9, 1927 in Callicoon. 
      Jim was a member of Delaware Council 4478 Knights of Columbus Callicoon, where he served as Financial Secretary for many years, Jim was also a member of the Philatelic Society, member of the NRA, and a Life Member of St. Joseph's Holy Cross Parish in Callicoon.
     Jim was an avid deer hunter and trout fisherman he always looked forward to those seasons every year.
     Jim is survived by many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and a sister in law Helen Henke. Jim was predeceased by his brothers Girard, Bernard, Joseph, Carl, George, William, Francis and Conrad; and by his sisters Rose Henke and Mary Orth.
     Friends may call on Friday August 24 at Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home 34 Upper Main Street Callicoon from 4 to 7 PM. The Funeral mass will be held on Saturday August 25 at 11 Am at Holy Cross Church Route 97 Callicoon.
