Helen Rieger

Helen B Rieger October 23d 1924 -January 13th 2019.                        Helen B Rieger, age 94, and a life-long resident of Callicoon, NY area, passed on  to her Eternal rest on January 13th 2019.  She was the daughter of the late Anna and Charles Bestenheider of Buck Brook, N Y, and was the loving wife of William Rieger (deceased)  for over 60 years. She leaves behind her five children, William C Rieger Jr., Susan R Pointer and her husband Richard R. Pointer, Steven P. Rieger and his wife Lori (Hartung) Rieger, Michael N. Rieger and his wife Karen (Simmons) Rieger, Mary C Priebe (deceased ) and her husband, Richard (Jack ) Priebe.
  Helen also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Helen was very active in her community, joining the Catholic Daughters of America, the Rosary Society and volunteering for the Ambulance Corps. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and most of all gathering with her family. She will be greatly missed.
     Memorial visitation was held on Monday at the Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home Callicoon. The Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday January 15, 2019 at 11 AM at Holy Cross Church Route 97 Callicoon.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the Cochecton Ambulance Corps, the Lake Huntington Cochecton Fire Department or to Holy Cross Church.
