Faruk G. Sabet

Faruk Sabet, 80,of Callicoon, New York died on August 24, 2019 at the Catskill Regional Hospital in Harris, NY.   He is survived by Merry Sabet (wife), Robert Sabet (son), Sam Sabet (son), Will Sabet (son), Angela Sabet (daughter-in-Law), Katelyn Sabet (granddaughter), Mehdi Sabet (brother), Sabour Sabet (brother).

Faruk received his Bachelor’s of Arts in International Law, at Teheran University, his Master of Arts and PhD in Economics at the New School for Social Research.

Faruk worked for the United Nations for over 15 years and was a PhD in Economics.  He was based in many countries including Lebanon, Iraq and Thailand where he spent most of his tenure with the UN.  Faruk was a professor at Dowling College, SUNY Plattsburgh, Saint John Fisher College and FIT.  In his spare time Faruk enjoyed gardening and writing.  Faruk spent his time in retirement between his homes in NYC and in Callicoon, NY where he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
